TMO’s NFL POWER POLL - 8/15/10

Posted by admin On August - 15 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

I was watching my personal favorite sports channel, of course the number one sports news network in the world, ESPN….and I heard something from Mort Anderson. Mort said something of the likes “every summer camp, we see something that we remember later in the season”. Meaning a player that is excelling, or maybe a newly installed play, package or formation that ends up winning the championship. Being the armchair fan that I am, while I was flipping through highlights, I was thinking,  Aaron Rodgers can throw the football (and I was happy to see Danny Ammendola is going to start for someone lol but hopefully I can babble of his success later, today is Aaron Rodgers day). I can’t say he (Rodgers) is improved, because he was never bad, but watching him rifle a few passes in the preseason opener was kind of like watching well…Peyton Manning. The pass I remember wasnt a rainbow, it was a tight spiral, that softly desecended toward the reciever with perfect timing. The kind of thing that makes someone say, wow that would be hard to intercept. Its sort of like an airplane making a perfect landing. A bird, ready to hone in and strike its prey. It was a thing of beauty. With that said, I did not see Brett Favre in purple, so Green Bay…you jumped up, way up, on TMO’s power poll. I just don’t see many people being able to defend this guy’s arm.

Here is my absolutely random power poll for 8-15-10
1) New Orleans Saints - the “haters” are wishin, the “haters” are hopin, the “haters” should be sayin , Who Dat , Who Dat?

2) Indianapolis Colts - They are not going anywhere this year, except to another championship behind the laser rocket arm of Peyton.

3) Baltimore Ravens - I don’t know man, they just play solid. They will win 17-13 all year long, but the way Flacco kept his cool, late in playoff games, late in other big games, this dudes just cool as a fan. And Ray Rice is a big low, fast back with hands. Having that check down option, is just going to hurt people on third - and - passing downs. Just a solid team.

4) Green Bay Packers - This dude can throw a football

5) New England Patriots - I have a feeling the only place they are moving on this list, is up.

6) Washington Redskins - Donovan signed a hat for me when I was a kid, in the rain, at a high school game. It was a Bills hat. I was hoping he would go to the Bills at the time. lol (loyalist)

7) San Francisco 49ers - Fundamentals never fail and I think Alex and Patrick are quality individuals to their respective units.

TMO’s NFL Power Poll

Posted by admin On July - 13 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

Here is my absolutely random power poll for the 2010 NFL Season
1) New Orleans Saints - the “haters” theories all sounds good, but the bottom line is the bottom line.
2) Indianapolis Colts - someone has to prove it differently this year, until then here are your top two.
3) Minnesota Vikings - with Favre they are in the mix again without a doubt.
4) Baltimore Ravens - There’s a crazy voice in my head that says the Ray-Ray tandem that equals 11-5
5) New England Patriots - I dunno do they ever go away?
6) Washington Redskins - Most Improved. Donovan  is a classy, mild mannered, winner who was the reason for Philly’s success
7) Miami Dolphins - Brandon Marshall is it and opponents better up their cardio to prepare for the wildcat formation on the road

8) Cincinnati Bengals - The show is great Chad, Ruby is great but the one that talks alot…not so much.
9) San Francisco 49ers - Singletary is a fundamentalist, fundamentals never fail.
10) Dallas Cowboys - They’re never as bad or good as the media says, it’s hard playing the “I told you so” role.  A top 50% quad
